Purpose of Role

We're looking for an ambitious and motivated Head of Platforms to join our team and help us shape how we deliver experiences that convert across a range of DXP, CMS, CRM, CDP and CMP projects!

Remarkable Group has top tier partner status with a number of technology vendors including Sitecore, Optimizely, Salesforce, Contentful, Big Commerce and a few others too. Historically, we have run these practices separately but as more and more organisations become headless/hybrid headless we're looking for a new Platform lead, who can help us standardise our services, approaches and outputs so that we can continue to deliver award winning customer experiences, regardless of the technologies in play.

Ideally, you will have a strong background in DXP and Data projects, understand at least Sitecore, Optimizely or Salesforce Commerce inside out and understand that what we do is deliver amazing experiences for customers, easy to use and robust tools to our clients’ teams and technology as an enabler for businesses to achieve their objectives.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

• Be accountable for the Gross Margin of our engineering and related teams who form the Platforms team within Remarkable Group

• Platform Strategy and Direction for our Tier 1 platform partners

• Defining and delivering Product Accelerators using standardised technologies across our range of Platforms

• Ensuring adequate team skills and certifications to achieve and retain Platinum status with our Tier 1 Partners – namely Sitecore, Optimizely and Contentful

• To stand on stages and talk about how technology and platforms are enablers and then in other rooms go deep into the Platforms and technologies that we use

• Defines, communicates, evangelises, and enforces platform engineering processes and standards across all platforms internally

• Deliver quality by standardising and simplifying our tech stack, and through having scalable and robust QA practices embedded in all we deliver

• Ensuring correct processes are documented during all stages of development, leading to improvements of processes and solutions

• Identifies reusable code required for the internal global code library/repository and ensures the high-quality creation of the code

• Support new business and existing client opportunities by getting clients and prospects excited about what they can achieve

• Consistently delivers high-quality services to our clients - assisting teams as appropriate

• Work with our other seniors to create a seamless and integrated end-to-end experience for our clients

• Manage a team of Practice leads who can go deep into each of our Tier 1 platforms

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, management and support for technical teams within the agency

• Oversee technical recruitment by working our People Team and Head of PMO to get the right people on-board, just in time for when we need them

• To ensure the appraisals and personal development including the mentoring and training of junior members of the team is completed across the Platform team

• Creates an environment where Innovators can successfully achieve professional career path goals

• Enforces standard policies and procedures and champions change and can effectively manage the implementation of new ideas

• Reinforces team approach throughout development efforts

• Fosters an open and collaborative technical culture within the Sitecore Engineering team.

Skills and Competencies

• Have passion for new technologies and be experienced in working on large value portfolio and large digital transformation projects

• To have the ability to forward plan and evaluate the impact of integration across businesses and platforms

• An understanding of the cost and consequence of implementation from both a technology and architectural perspective

• Ability to document work and projects and report to the leadership and management team

• Good organisational and interpersonal skills with good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work to tight deadlines

Previous Experience and Skills

• In-depth knowledge of Sitecore and/or Optimizely

• Expert technical ability in the following: .Net/C# (MVC), SQL Server, JavaScript Frameworks (i.e. ReactJS/Angular/VueJS), Microservices, Solr, Node.js, Entity Framework, .NET Core, Azure Services

• Extensive experience with Azure based development

• In-depth knowledge of CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment) technologies, i.e. TeamCity, Azure DevOps, Octopus Deploy and deployment pipelines

• Expertise and broad experience to design, architect & deliver technically sophisticated solutions to meet challenging business requirements – including integrations i.e. Salesforce/Dynamics365 and/or legacy systems

• Experience with data and asset migrations from non-Sitecore solutions/platforms (e.g. Umbraco/Optimizely/Kentico) to Sitecore

• Experience with software development lifecycle tools e.g. Playwright
